When it Comes to Security an Extra Set of Eyes Can Save Lives
If you mention Pearl Harbor or the assassinations of JFK, RFK and Martin Luther King Jr. to anyone who was alive when it happened, it is very likely that they will tell you exactly where they were, what they were doing, and the exact emotions that came flooding through when they found out. Columbine, Sandy Hook and the Boston Marathon Bombings are some of the more gut wrenching event that many of us remember. But most would agree that the events of September 11th, 2001 belong at the top of that list. That is why so many people are upset about a recent security breach on the site of the World Trade Center. The incident was no more than one individual briefly and harmlessly entering a secured area, and promptly being escorted out. But in a location as important to people as this one, ‘harmlessly’ may not be the right word. Especially considering this is not the first breach to the sites security. These events have sparked a review by the Port Authority, and the hiring of a security consulting firm to come on board for assessment. These types of assessments are necessary in all security environments. Routine is essential to any security operation. But routine and vigilance often find themselves at odds with one another. It is important to gain the opinion of a fresh set of eyes as often as possible. If you see the same pothole in the same spot of the road every day, to your eyes that may just become part of the road. So you may not notice when the pothole gets bad enough to do serious damage to your vehicle. But someone who is unfamiliar with the road and on the alert for such hazards will be able to see the hole and point it out to you for remediation. The same is true when it comes to security. An extra set of eyes even save lives one day. Please contact if you want more information about our services.
